What each licence counts.
cPanel counts accounts. 1 Plesk counts domains. 5 DirectAdmin counts both. 8 CyberPanel's core is free and open source. 12 13
KLYRN counts servers. A paid edition never limits sites, domains, databases or accounts.
Plesk's prices are left out. Its pricing page carried a promotion and a price change whose dates had both passed. Read them on Plesk's own page.
What KLYRN does not do.
- It does not run
.htaccess. It translates the rules it understands into nginx. - It runs on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, x86_64 only.
- It is not open source. On price alone, CyberPanel wins.

Questions
- Is KLYRN a drop-in replacement for cPanel?
- No. It hosts PHP, WordPress, Node.js and mail on nginx, and it does not run
.htaccess. - Does KLYRN limit how many sites, domains or accounts I can host?
- Only on Free. On a paid edition the server is the limit.
- How much does KLYRN cost?
- Free costs nothing. Pro is $9 per server a month, or $90 a year. Business and Enterprise are not on sale yet.
- Can I move an existing cPanel account to KLYRN?
- Yes. Upload a cPanel or DirectAdmin backup, or point KLYRN at the live server over SSH. How migration works
- Is KLYRN open source?
- No. It is a commercial product with a free edition.
- Can I run KLYRN today?
- Yes. One command installs it on a clean Ubuntu 24.04 LTS server. Take a backup before you move a live site onto it.
