Install KLYRN VM
The controller
Run this as root on a fresh server.
curl -fsSL https://get.klyrn.com/vm | sudo bash
The installer prints the address of your panel and a setup token. Open the address and use the token to create the first administrator.
To set the hostname for the panel's certificate, add it to the command.
curl -fsSL https://get.klyrn.com/vm | sudo bash -s -- --hostname vm.example.com
Supported systems
| System | Versions |
|---|---|
| Ubuntu | 22.04, 24.04, 26.04 |
| Debian | 12, 13 |
| AlmaLinux | 8, 9, 10 |
| Rocky Linux | 8, 9, 10 |
| CentOS Stream | 10 |
The server needs a 64-bit Intel or AMD processor. Fedora can run the controller but cannot be a compute node.
One server for everything
To run machines on the same server as the controller, run this after the install.
klyrn-vm admin node add-local
You can also do both at once.
curl -fsSL https://get.klyrn.com/vm | sudo bash -s -- --single-server
Add another compute node
In the panel, open Compute nodes and choose Add node. Give the node a name and copy the command the panel shows. Run that command as root on the new server.
The command works once and expires after an hour. The node appears in the panel as soon as it connects.
Ports
| Port | Used for |
|---|---|
| 8443 | The panel and the API |
| 8444 | Compute nodes connecting to the controller |
Compute nodes connect out to the controller. You do not need to open a port on a compute node for the panel.
Check the install
klyrn-vm doctor
This lists anything that is wrong and what to set up next.
