Moving a running machine with a 303 ms pause
KLYRN VM moves a running machine and its disks to another host. In our test the machine paused for 303 milliseconds.
You can move a running machine to another host from its page in the panel. Its disks move with it.
What we measured
We moved a test machine while it wrote to disk and answered pings. It paused for 303 milliseconds and lost one ping. Its data was identical afterwards and it did not restart.
Before the move
The panel checks every other host first. If none can take the machine, it tells you why for each one.
Between Intel and AMD
KVM cannot move a running machine between an Intel host and an AMD host. For that case KLYRN VM copies the disks while the machine runs, then restarts it once on the new host. In our test it was off for about 7 seconds.
