We test the installer on twelve Linux systems
Before a KLYRN VM release goes out, we install it on freshly reinstalled servers and check that a machine can be built on each.
Before a release goes out, we install it on servers that have just been reinstalled from nothing. We use the same public command you would.
The systems are Ubuntu 22.04, 24.04 and 26.04, Debian 12 and 13, AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux 8, 9 and 10, and CentOS Stream 10.
What we check
On each server the test installs the controller, creates an administrator, adds a compute node, builds a machine, reaches it over the network, and deletes it. There are 30 checks in all.
What it has caught
A package mirror that stopped answering left an install waiting. The installer now gives up on a silent mirror and uses the distribution's own servers. We only found that by running real installs.
You can see which systems each release was tested on in the changelog.
